OCEAN RIDGE JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB
Parents, Guardians & Spectators Code of Conduct
All players and parent/guardians are to abide by the club's codes of conduct. Players must know and sign a player’s code of conduct before they are permitted to play for ORJFC.
Parent/Guardians must:
- Remember that you are there for the participants to enjoy the game.
- Encourage participation, but don’t force it.
- Teach that enjoyment is more important than winning.
- Never ridicule mistakes or losses – supporters are there to support, not downgrade.
- Lead by example and respect all players, coaches, umpires, and spectators – physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
- Recognise all volunteers who are giving up their valuable time.
- Never publicly criticise umpires – raise personal concerns with club officials in private.
- Don’t use ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender, or ability – you'll let down your family and yourself if you do, and many such comments are actually now illegal.
- Make suitable arrangements for the collection of players after training and ensure a nominated guardian is present at games.
- Inform the club/team manager of any medical condition your child may have and provide medication for such condition.
By registering with the club, parent/guardians must also (on their own behalf and for their child and all other parents, guardians, or relatives of their child) abide by and be bound by the Club and League’s rules and by-laws as published from time to time.
